A Corner of One's Own

Yes, Madame Virginia Woolf. Women and their talents are hardly cultivated if the space is not created for them.

And so in this humble abode I share with my family, we carved out a quiet corner that I can rightfully call my own. (The computer area has long been appropriated by Lakay -- a territory constantly challenged by his more tyrannical counterpart)

All it took was the moving of furniture here and there, and the love and cooperation of everyone involved.

The result:

an astonishingly welcoming corner in our bedroom, perfect for a struggling Ph.D student who can look out of the window ( not the internet, and not the TV) at every turn of a page.
